1943-D Silver Jefferson "War" Nickel PCGS MS65
Silver 1943-D Jefferson "war" nickel graded Mint State 65 by Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS). This coin is part of an 11 coin set from 1942-1945 that are the only nickel dates to contain silver in United States history. In the early 1940's the U.S. Mint changed the composition of the 5 cent coin to include approximately 35% silver in an effort to conserve the metal nickel for the war. This coin was minted in Denver hence the "D" mint mark.
